Cheryl Smetana McHugh, MSW, LICSW
Cheryl Smetana McHugh is a Mental Health Professional and is the Executive Chair at TSA. She completed her Master of Social Work program at the University of Minnesota and received her Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from the University of Minnesota.
Cheryl completed her Master's level internship at a mental health center conducting outpatient mental health assessments, therapy, and also participated in an intense immersion experience at Hazelton. Cheryl worked five years doing child protection and child welfare work for Pine County Social Services where she worked with a large population of children who had experienced physical and sexual abuse, neglect and parental chemical dependency. Upon licensure, Cheryl provided family therapy services to youth and families at Therapeutic Services Agency in both the Adolescent Treatment Program and the In-Home Family Based Services Program. Cheryl has been a professional helper since 1979 and serving as Executive Chair, enjoys the privilege of working with TSA staff, other professional colleagues, county and school professionals in helping children, youth and families.
