Kelly Buchta, MSW, LICSW

Kelly Buchta is a Mental Health Professional who earned her Master's Degree in Social Work from St. Cloud State University in 2015 and her Bachelor's Degree in Child Psychology from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities.  Kelly is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW).

Kelly has over nine years of experience working alongside children and adolescents diagnosed with a chronic and/or mental illness across numerous settings. Kelly’s past experience includes interning at Canvas Health’s Therapeutic Learning Center Adolescent Day Treatment Program where she co-facilitated group therapy for adolescents diagnosed with a mental illness. In addition, she interned at the 916 Intermediate School District’s Bellaire Education Center, a level four school. Kelly has also used her experience on the University of Minnesota’s state championship hockey team to work as a hockey performance coach, working to enhance teams and individual’s athletic abilities both on and off the ice. Kelly currently works in TSA’s Day Treatment Program, facilitating skills groups, co-facilitating therapy groups and providing individual therapy to client’s in the program. She is trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Intervention for Trauma in Schools (CBITS).  Kelly has a passion for working alongside children and adolescents diagnosed with a mental illness, values the therapeutic alliance and strives to build an environment that individuals enjoy coming to each and every day. Additionally, Kelly enjoys incorporating health, nutrition, and wellness into her work at the North Branch Day Treatment Program.
