Community Based Skills Groups

Program Description: Community Based Skills groups are an opportunity for clients to learn and practice important emotional and behavioral coping, social, communication and daily living skills within the context of a group setting with peers of a similar age. Oftentimes, skills groups are an important addition to individual therapy and provide an opportunity for youth to practice skills that will help them cope with various mental health challenges they are facing and working through in therapy.
Location(s): Pine City - Hilltop House
Ages: 6 - 18 years old
Typical Frequency of Services: 2x per week
Program Components:
Skills group twice per week
- Individual Treatment Planning
- Coordination with other TSA service providers
Additional Information:
- This service must be recommended by a licensed professional upon the completion of a Diagnostic Assessment
- Operated within a therapeutic milieu
- Service focus on:
- Coping skills
- Social skills
- Problem solving skills
- Decision making skills
- In conjunction with the skills listed above, groups focus on 1-2 additional skills each week
